Your job as a Senior Director, Head of Ethics & Compliance
As a Senior Director, Head of Ethics & Compliance you will be a critical senior leader for implementing and enhancing compliance standards. Within this department in Astellas, you will lead the development of Ethics & Compliance procedures within the Leiden Research & Development department, Astellas Pharma Netherlands sales organization and the Meppel, Dublin and Kerry manufacturing facilities. You will also assist in developing and implementing he global organization dedicated to compliance and ethical behavior. Furthermore, you will oversee and manage the establishment, implementation and continuous enhancement of the Ethics & Compliance program.
As a part of the Netherlands Coordination Team, you will coordinate the implementation and maintenance of different processes across business units with very different business environments and priorities. You will ensure integration and harmonization with processes applicable to their wider global organizations, where relevant. You will be responsible for the development of Ethics & Compliance policies and implement a rollout process across personnel. Next to that, you will coordinate risk assessment, identification and management activities to ensure an integrated approach to identify and manage risk across each of the global, regional and local functions. You will have strategic oversight of tracking, trending and appropriate investigation of ethics and compliance related issues, concerns or actual or potential violations. This includes implementing appropriate corrective actions if violations occur.
Your personal qualifications as a Senior Director, Head of Ethics & Compliance
- At least an advanced degree in law, business administration, corporate governance, compliance or other related fields
- Substantive knowledge and experience with compliance with law, regulations and industry codes relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in leading a team of professionals.
- Strong drafting and communication skills (oral and written).
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) necessary and Dutch (written and verbal) a preference
As a Senior Director, Head of Ethics & Compliance you have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret rules and guidelines, and ability to conceptualize policies, procedures and controls. You have the ability to work in a multi-cultural regional and global environment. You are persuasive and able to convince others in a professional way. You also have the ability to demonstrate sound and independent judgment, prudence and maturity in complex and sensitive cases. Furthermore, you have a strong commitment to integrity and professionalism and a commitment to excellence. Next to that, you have the ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work.
