"The Future of Pharma lies in Companion Diagnostics"
The notion of personalized medicine is well established as well as the fact that good, often novel, diagnostics are essential to achieve true personalized medicine. What probably is less well known is that the EU has established relevant new legislation for all medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics. In order to meet the demands of this changing playing field, an -Interreg NWE funded- consortium has been founded: “Codex4SMEs”. In The Netherlands both Zuid-Holland and Noord-Brabant are partner in this programme. Lonneke Baas and Stéfan Ellenbroek will pitch the contents of the programme and its benefits for the Leiden ecosystem (of which the access to human tissues and validation of biomarkers are most important). Coen Breedveld, co-fouder of LevelsDX will present his Leiden Bio Science Park (companion) diagnostics company.
