Τhe Flow cytometry Core Facility (FCF) in the LUMC has received an important International recognition as a Shared Resource Laboratory (SRL) by the International Society for the Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC). The recognition was established to recognize SRLs who Uphold a high standard in operations and adherence to best practices and This recognition has only been rewarded to 14 laboratories world-wide. The FCF is a research facility that provides more than 500 researchers and technicians access to state-of-the-art flow cytometers, mass cytometers and cell sorters that are used to analyze and isolate cell populations. In addition, the facility provides trainings for its users and offers advice on experimental design. Since its establishment in 2017 by professors Jacques van Dongen and Frank Staal, the FCF has had a strong focus on quality control and adherence to best practices as outlined by ISAC. Support and guidance by EuroFlow and ESLHO were key in laying a solid foundation for this success. The FCF is very proud of this recognition and will keep improving its’ services and expertise to contribute to the research and diagnostics performed in the LUMC.
