BioCentury Grand Rounds Europe visits Leiden


On 24 September, Leiden Bio Science Park welcomed participants of BioCentury Grand Rounds Europe for an ecosystem tour in Leiden. The international delegation included biotech founders, investors, biopharma executives and other leaders from across the life sciences sector.

The programme offered an introduction to Leiden’s life sciences ecosystem, with a visit to the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) and presentations from local companies XS Innovations, BIMINI Biotech and Vico Therapeutics. The programme highlighted the breadth of research, drug development and entrepreneurship across the Leiden ecosystem.

BioCentury Grand Rounds Europe, held in Amsterdam from 23 to 25 September, brings together academic innovators, biopharma leaders, investors and biotech founders to explore the challenges and opportunities in translating scientific discoveries into new medicines. The Leiden ecosystem tour gave international delegates an opportunity to see this translational ecosystem in practice and connect with organisations working across different stages of the drug development process.
