Weekend van de Wetenschap (Weekend of Science)

The Weekend of Science is the national festival that opens the doors to science and technology for everyone. Each year on the first weekend of October, organizations across the Netherlands invite visitors to take a unique look behind the scenes. In 2025, the Weekend of Science takes place on 4 and 5 October.

During these two days, visitors can discover what normally remains hidden from the public. They can meet scientists, see restorers at work in museums, and take part in experiments in laboratories. The festival offers a unique opportunity to experience the world of science and technology in an accessible and hands-on way.

The full programme of the Weekend of Science 2025 will be published on 19 September on the official website. Until then, a first preview of activities is already available online.

The Weekend of Science is suitable for all ages, with a special focus on families with children aged 8 to 14. From interactive experiments to inspiring demonstrations, everyone can explore and enjoy the wonders of science and technology.
