Biobanking, Microbiome & Data Analytics – Secure biobanking, advanced data analytics and computational expertise enabling robust, reproducible and data-driven biomedical research.
Biobank
The Biobank Facility offers a centralized, certified infrastructure for collection, storage and distribution of high-quality biological samples and associated data. By working with standardized protocols, the facility supports longitudinal and cross-study biomedical research. It provides secure and compliant access to broad range of biomaterials, enabling advanced studies in genetics, disease mechanisms, and translational science.
Data Analytics
The Data Analytics facility develops and disseminates advanced quantitative and computational methodologies and pipelines tailored to biomedical and clinical research challenges. It also offers methodological support and collaboration opportunities to accelerate data-driven discovery across disciplines leveraging latest development on AI and LLM.
Center for Microbiome Analyses and Therapeutics
The Microbiome center integrates state-of-the-art analytical platforms to characterize host-microbiota interactions and supports research into microbial community dynamics and therapeutic modulation strategies. I CMAT aims to facilitate a wide range of aspects in human microbiome research by tailoring its services to specific research requirements, from study design, through sample logistics to data analysis and visualisation.
Facilities at LUMC
Leiden University Medical Center runs more than a dozen research facilities on the park, from ultra-high field MRI and electron microscopy to preclinical imaging, flow cytometry, and cell and gene therapy.
These facilities are open to partner institutes and third parties, not only to LUMC researchers. And access comes with the people who run them: support with sample preparation, study design, imaging protocols, and data interpretation.
