Clinical Database Designer (24-40h per week) at Centre for Human Drug Research

CHDR is looking for a Clinical Database Designer for 24-40 hours a week.

We are located in Leiden, the Netherlands, and collaborate closely with the University of Leiden and the clinical departments of the LUMC.

What does the job look like?

As a Clinical Database Designer, you are responsible for translating clinical protocols into comprehensive, operational databases and managing these databases after they go live. To do so, you work with multiple multi-disciplinary project teams simultaneously, gathering their requirements and reviewing clinical protocols at an early stage for practical and technical feasibility. You translate final protocols into comprehensive databases and design automatic study-specific checks to achieve and maintain CHDR’s high standard of data quality. In addition, you manage existing databases and carefully implement requests and corrections for ongoing clinical trials. As CHDR’s databases are used by all operational staff, this position requires close communication with other departments. The databases are critical to both clinical trial execution as well as the analysis and processing of data. Our database software Promasys uses a GUI and does not require knowledge of programming syntax.

Required skills

The job requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, stress resiliency, and well developed communication, planning and organizational skills. You must have excellent knowledge of database definition and/or data management, EDC software, and preferably CDISC SDTM. Due to the international setting in which we operate, fluency in the English language is necessary. Other competencies would include the ability to work independently, accurately, and structurally.
