Business Analyst

Overall purpose of the job:

Pharming Group N.V. is an innovative pharmaceutical company listed on Euronext Amsterdam with a market capitalization of €500 million. Due to the continued growth of the company, the Finance department is seeking a Business Analyst to strengthen the Business Control team. Pharming is engaged in the research, development, manufacture and sale of specialist biologic therapies for rare diseases and unmet medical needs. Pharming has one product on the market, which is also in development for several large indications, and two other products entering clinical development in the next 18 months.

The Business Analyst is responsible for delivering budget & forecasts and ensuring that the business reporting is accurate, timely and contains valuable management information. Through (financial) analysis and close partnership, this position will play a critical role in ensuring that business and resource allocation decisions are well informed and supported by high quality financial and non-financial information. This role will coordinate mainly with Operations (Production, Supply Chain, Development, Technical Operations) and Operations-related project teams.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Planning, organising, coordinating and supporting the business as part of the financial planning and control cycle
  • Support managers with ad hoc analysis and financial support on plans, budgets, forecasts, investments and financial results
  • Participate in (business) review meetings
  • Perform financial appraisals to evaluate the viability of projects


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field, ideally in combinations with a relevant professional qualification - (CIMA, ACCA, RC)
  • At least 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar role
  • Experience of financial analysis, financial modelling and investment appraisal techniques
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and data analytics tools
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry will be an advantage


  • Ability to build sustainable relations
  • Effective verbal and written communicator (both English and Dutch languages)
  • Comfortable presenting to all levels of the business
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
