October 3 documentary: Tis Maar Eens Per Jaar

This is a documentary about the 3 October tradition of Leiden.

Why do we stand in the rain every year watching the parade? Or line up early in the morning, hungover, for ‘Haring en Wittebrood’? In short, what is the magic of this centuries-old folk festival?
In this film, we follow four people from Leiden in the run-up to and during the 450th celebration of Leidens Ontzet. A story about the power of tradition and the identity of Leiden. An ode to our beautiful city!
