Tech Week Leiden: women shaping the future of tech and entrepreneurship

On Wednesday, November 12, the Municipality of Leiden and Equals are organizing the launch of the Tech Week Campaign in the foyer of Leiden City Hall.

An afternoon dedicated to visibility, inspiration, and equal opportunities, featuring role models from Leiden in the spotlight.

Even today, only 18 percent of people working in the tech sector are women. Representation is also limited in entrepreneurship. This means that much talent remains untapped. With the Role Model Campaign, we showcase women who work or run businesses in Leiden and the surrounding area across various technical, scientific, and innovative sectors. Their stories show that there is not just one path to success, but many.

Leiden is this year’s Education City of the Year, a city that offers space to learn, explore, and innovate. This collaboration with Equals aligns with that ambition: to make visible the women who make a difference, so that other girls and women can see themselves reflected and feel inspired.
