TechTalk: AI in Life Sciences & Health – November 2025

TechTalk: Choosing the Right Tech Stack & AI Tools to Automate Your Organization

TechTalk: AI in Life Sciences & Health

Join us for an inspiring afternoon on how organizations can harness technology and artificial intelligence to streamline (lab) processes, boost efficiency, and manage risks.

We will feature experts from the community and beyond, each delivering a short talk of 10 minutes. The sessions will explore:

  • In what ways can you use AI?
  • How to leverage AI for automation: practical ideas and applications
  • How to automate the lab with AI and data-driven solutions
  • Business risks of AI from a privacy standpoint

Together, we’ll uncover concrete use cases, best practices, and critical considerations for adopting AI and automation in the Life Sciences & Health environment.

Speakers:

  • Bas Cloin – DataChaperone

AI is invaluable for the lab of the future, with applications ranging from data analysis to report writing and a complete agentic lab. But it also comes at a price, e.g., in the form of data- and validation-requirements. In this talk, we’ll discuss the opportunities and challenges of using AI for some real-life cases.

  • Arnold Juffer – Nebul

Thinking about building your own AI application? Arnold Juffer, CEO of Nebul, will walk you through the key decisions behind developing one from the ground up. Nebul is a pioneering European AI Cloud company enabling organizations to innovate with AI securely, efficiently, and with full data sovereignty.
Its Private AI Factory delivers top-tier performance while keeping data, models, and IP under your control.

  • Fabio Gori – Pistoia Analytics

What does AI transformation really look like for a life science organization? Join Dr. Fabio Gori, a 20-year veteran in biotech R&D and applied AI/ML, as he maps the practical stages, key pillars for success, and common pitfalls of AI transformation in life science. Attendees leave with a long-term roadmap, a checklist to de-risk adoption, and a final tip on R&D subsidies for AI. Dr Gori helps life science organizations with their AI initiatives: strategy, solution building, and leadership training. His clients range from startups to listed firms.

  • Wynand Alkema – Tenwise

How to automate the interpretation of ~omics results
TenWise supports biotech start-ups in making sense of data they derive from their in vitro, animal or human study with a focus on data from omics experiments. This is a time consuming process and researchers often get lost and loose the oversight. In our TechTalk Wynand Alkema explains how he supports start-ups with automated AI driven methods for deeper biological interpretation of ~omics generated gene lists.

  • Federico Muffatto – Digi.Bio

About Digi.Bio: Digi.Bio operates at the intersection of hardware, software, and wetware, creating “immune system on a chip” technology to measure real-time immune responses to drugs.
What we do: We fuse microfluidics, optics, and AI to build a digital twin of immune interactions. This enables the understanding of why a therapy works and rapidly evaluate and develop more effective and safer immunotherapies, providing a window into previously unseen biology.
What we’ll share: We will discuss how we built our AI system on our unique hardware/wetware stack, sharing hard-learned lessons on the dos and don’ts of implementing AI from our tool-builder and biologist perspective.

After the talks, there will be time for networking with drinks and bites.
