Only together can we make a difference. Violence against women and girls is a major global issue and that includes here in the Netherlands. As many as 61% of working women have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace, 30% have faced some form of physical misconduct, and 1 in 5 women experience partner violence. These are just a few examples of the many problems related to violence against women.
But everyone can make a difference. Orange the World is a global campaign by UN Women to end violence against women and girls. Workplaces are one of the environments where this violence can occur. By acting within companies between 25 November and 10 December, we can help fight this violence and make a real difference.
By joining the campaign, a company can show that such behavior is unacceptable and start an open conversation about inappropriate conduct. Raising awareness among employees, clients, and partners helps provide support where it is needed. Open conversations about violence against women and girls can empower victims to seek help. Join us and make a difference, Orange the World!
