Leiden Circular Science Park (LCSP) is a sustainability and circularity initiative that brings together organizations, both private and public, and individuals such as researchers, entrepreneurs, facility managers and students. We are open for everyone in the Leiden Bio Science Park ecosystem who is passionate about building a more sustainable future for the park and its surroundings. The community focuses on sharing knowledge, reducing waste and saving resources.
LCSP serves as a community that connects those who work on sustainability. There are a lot of people who are passionate about improving the carbon footprint at their workplace and can use additional knowledge about how to do this. Here, we can learn from each other’s experience and together come up with best practices.
We aim to reuse redundant materials by building a marketplace where those who have extra consumables can connect with those who need them. We also aim to collaborate on waste collection, to enable everyone to have access to diverse waste streams and make advanced recycling a viable option.
By coordinating waste management and delivery systems, we can reduce traffic – and therefore fuel consumption – across the park. As the park is expanding and new buildings are built, the demand for electricity is higher than ever. By working together, we can implement solutions to save energy and have sustained growth.
