Leiden researchers awarded funding for high-tech research

Two Leiden University research teams have been awarded grants through the HTSM programme, supporting advanced technology development with strong industry collaborations.

  • DUAL IMPACT, led by Prof. Joost Batenburg (LIACS), aims to transform quality control in industries like food processing and energy by combining detailed 3D imaging with fast, efficient scanning methods.

  • CLEAR-water, led by Prof. Thijs van Osch, develops new MRI techniques that eliminate the use of gadolinium-based contrast agents, reducing environmental impact while maintaining diagnostic accuracy.

Both projects involve partnerships with industry and research institutes, strengthening Leiden’s position as a hub for innovative high-tech research.
