BaseClear received the new ISO/IEC 17025 scope which now includes Next-Generation sequencing. The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is granted to laboratory tests that meet internationally validated quality requirements. Accredited laboratories show proven technical competency and work according to an accurate management system.
BaseClear ISO/IEC 17025 accredited for Next-Generation sequencingWednesday, April 10, 2019
BaseClear offers Next-Generation sequencing services since 2009. The machine with the current highest output is the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 system, with an output of up to 3.000 Gb per run. Next to this BaseClear offers Next-Generation sequencing services on the Illumina MiSeq, the PacBio Sequel and the ONT GridION system from Oxford Nanopore Technologies. At this moment the scope of BaseClear applies to sequencing on the Illumina HiSeq and Illumina MiSeq platform. BaseClear is planning to extend the scope later this year.
With our Next-Generation sequencing systems we are prepared for high throughput projects and we have a complete combination of long and short read technologies for a wide range of sequencing projects. In the past 25 years BaseClear has developed especially strong expertise and experience in microbial genomics research. BaseClear offers complete packages in bacterial or fungal genome characterisation, as well as microbiome analysis. In addition BaseClear routinely organise experts meetings wherein scientists and researchers meet, share and discuss applications and technical challenges on these topics.
BaseClear is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited since 2006 by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA – Raad voor Accreditatie). The addition of Next-Generation sequencing to the ISO scope is an important step for BaseClear, because we are increasingly working on projects for e.g. clinical trials or regulatory approval. The new certificate is valid until April 1st, 2020. The exact scope of our accreditation can be found on the website of the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA).
