Traffic Analysis in September

The municipality of Leiden has planned a traffic analysis in Leiden Bio Science Park. The aim of the research is to gain insight into/gather information on the amount of pedestrians, cyclists and cars. Also the driving motion of these different modalities will be monitored.

The research contains two types of counts:

  • Measurement of road sections.
This will be carried out by Automated Traffic Recorder. The road sections will be counted 24 hours a day, during four weeks. The research has started on September 2.
  • Measurement of crossings/intersections.
Cameras will be used to analyze and measure the movements on the intersections. The crossings will be measured on Tuesday the 5th of September and Thursday the 7th of September, in particular during rush hour between 7.00 and 9.00 am and between 4.00 and 6.00 pm.

This traffic analysis is part of the project ‘’Sustainable Reconstruction of the public space and infrastructure LBSP’’ of the municipality of Leiden. This project is part of the Masterplan Gorlaeus 2017.

The analysis is carried out by the company Datacount.
