OVBSP

Representing companies and institutions

The Ondernemersvereniging Bio Science Park represents the interests of every company and institution at Leiden Bio Science Park. That independent position is what makes the association a standing partner in dialogue with government bodies and other relevant forums.

Representing and connecting

We make sure members find each other and meet, get to know one another, benefit from one another, and do things together. The Bio Science Park keeps growing and it grows as one, which brings its own challenges. Every new company that arrives has an effect on the park as a whole. We want transport and logistics here to be properly arranged. And we want a park with room to meet: places where you can hold a meeting, and cafés and restaurants where you can take a guest to lunch. As an entrepreneurs’ association, we take stock of what companies want and need, and carry that to the other stakeholders.

The voice of entrepreneurs since 1998

The Ondernemersvereniging Bio Science Park (OVBSP) was founded in 1998 and took its current name in 2009. Twice a year, at the general members’ meeting, the board accounts for the past year and sets out its main plans for the current and coming years.

1. A standing partner in dialogue with government bodies and other relevant forums.

2. Advocate for the companies and institutions at Leiden Bio Science Park.

3. The platform for meeting your peers.

4. Independent of government and suppliers.

Become a member

Any organisation at Leiden Bio Science Park or on the Vondellaan can join the Ondernemersvereniging Bio Science Park. Companies based just outside the park can be nominated by the board in specific cases, with the general members’ meeting deciding.

Membership costs €350 per calendar year, or €100 for companies with up to ten employees. It can start at any point in the year, but is invoiced per full calendar year, including the year you join. Invoices go out in January and serve as confirmation of membership. To cancel, give written notice before 1 December.

The OVBSP board

The OVBSP board is made up of members who represent a broad cross-section of the companies at the park.

Alongside the board, a park management committee develops the projects that park management carries out, supervises, or manages. This committee also includes representatives from Leiden University and the Municipality of Leiden.
