Trinity College Cambridge Visits Leiden Bio Science Park

Leiden Bio Science Park had the honour of hosting a delegation from Trinity College Cambridge, one of the UK’s most prominent investors in science and innovation. Organised in collaboration with CBRE, the visit was part of a broader exploration of what the group described as “two of the Netherlands’ most successful innovation ecosystems”- Leiden Bio Science Park and the High Tech Campus Eindhoven.

The delegation’s visit offered a unique opportunity to showcase how people, place, and purpose have shaped Leiden Bio Science Park into one of Europe’s leading life sciences hubs. Just as importantly, it was a moment for mutual learning and dialogue with seasoned experts from Cambridge’s world-renowned innovation ecosystem.

The day’s programme included several highlights:

  • Morning session at BioPartner Leiden: Esther Peters, Director of Leiden Bio Science Park, welcomed the delegation and provided a deep dive into the park’s growth, ecosystem development, and its role in advancing life sciences and global health innovation.

  • Visit to Biotech Training Facility: Here, guests learned about the park’s focus on talent development, with hands-on training designed to support the growing demand for skilled professionals in life sciences manufacturing.

  • Campus tour at Plus Ultra Leiden: Hosted by Kadans Science Partner, this session explored how thoughtful real estate and infrastructure strategies can support early-stage ventures and vibrant scientific communities.

  • Afternoon visit to Galapagos at the Finch Building: The Galapagos team welcomed the delegation to one of the Park’s flagship biotech companies, offering a close-up look at how global players are scaling their presence within the Leiden ecosystem.

We are grateful for the open conversations and exchange of ideas throughout the day. This visit marks an encouraging step toward deepening the connection between two high-impact science clusters, Cambridge and Leiden, and exploring how we can work together to shape the future of health innovation.

A special thank-you to the Trinity College delegation and our colleagues from CBRE for making this visit possible.
