LUMC Symposium: Advancing Population Research Through Multi-Omics

Advancing Population Research Through Diversity and Emerging Technologies: How can we harness the power of population diversity and technological innovation to shape the future of population health research?

LUMC is delighted to invite you to their upcoming symposium on 9 November 2026, from 13:00 to 17:00, at the Golden Tulip in Leiden.

As population-based research enters a new era, embracing population diversity and leveraging cutting-edge technologies offer unprecedented opportunities to deepen our understanding of human health and disease, accelerate scientific discovery, and advance precision medicine.

This symposium will bring together leading researchers from the Netherlands and Singapore to explore two exciting perspectives:

Population Diversity: Broadening Our Understanding of Human Health
The first session will highlight the scientific opportunities offered by large, multi-ethnic population cohorts, featuring insights from the HELIOS cohort in Singapore, a key component of the Singapore Precision Medicine program, and the HELIUS cohort in the Netherlands. These studies demonstrate how embracing population diversity can enhance our understanding of health and disease across different populations and improve the generalizability of research findings.

Emerging Technologies: Unlocking New Possibilities for Population Research
The second session will explore how technological advances can transform population-based research, opening new opportunities for deeper molecular and biological characterization, innovative data integration, and scientific discovery.

Join us for an inspiring afternoon of scientific exchange, fresh perspectives, and opportunities for interdisciplinary and international collaboration!
