Eurofins is pleased to announce the official acquisition of a plot of land from Leiden University, with construction started now on October 7th on a state-of-the-art facility in Nieuw Rhijngeest-Zuid. After signing the contract in July, the land was officially transferred to Eurofins in early October, marking a significant milestone for the company.
This new building will consolidate Eurofins’ two current locations in Leiden, providing a central hub with room for continued growth. As a global leader in the TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) market, Eurofins conducts analytical testing for various sectors. In Leiden, the company focuses on pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates, and final products testing. The new facility is designed to streamline operations, enhance flexibility, and accommodate future expansion.
Laboratories and Office Space
Eurofins’ current spaces on Archimedesweg and Darwinweg have become too constrained to support recent and anticipated growth. The new five-story building offers 10,000 square meters of net floor area, with a quarter dedicated to future expansion. In addition to laboratory space, the building will house offices and a spacious parking garage, with rooftop solar panels enhancing sustainability.
Designed with efficiency in mind, the building layout maximizes open areas while minimizing hallways and structural obstacles, allowing Eurofins to adapt to future needs. This forward-looking design ensures flexibility, aligning with the company’s long-term goals.
An Inspiring Workplace
Eurofins envisions a workplace that inspires its 500 employees and harmonizes with the surrounding environment. The building’s second floor will feature a central hub, including a restaurant and conference center—a space for team members to connect over lunch, meetings, or informal gatherings. The restaurant will extend onto a rooftop terrace surrounded by greenery, offering an ideal setting for outdoor lunches and discussions.
