Due to our continuing growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Jr Facilities Assistant at our state-of-the-art drug discovery site in Leiden, the Netherlands.

As Jr Facilities Assistant you will be participating in creating a high quality and safe working environment for staff. You will be part of a small and enthusiastic team which is responsible for keeping the facilities and the labs operational, safe, secure and up to QA standards. All this is done in a team-oriented, result-driven, international research environment that provides an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual.

In your role you will be:

• An active participant of the Leiden Facilities team
• Support lab users by e.g.

o Ensuring sufficient stock levels of reagents, consumables and other labware

o Handling incoming goods

o Calibrating, validating and cleaning of equipment

o Managing the database of project specific lab materials

• Supporting the Environmental Health & Safety team
• Identifying opportunities for improvement

The following are minimum requirements related to the Jr Facilities Assistant position

• MBO or equivalent level of degree is required
• Lab oriented education is not required
• Knowledgeable in English and Dutch
• You are pragmatic and at the same time able to adhere to the rules of a laboratory environment
• Good communication skills to enable engagement with staff
• You are a team player
