The Life Sciences Café on March 20th marked the official launch of the Deelakkoord Human Capital Agenda Leiden Bio Science Park 2024-2027. This initiative addresses one of the biggest challenges in the life sciences sector: ensuring a skilled and future-proof workforce to sustain innovation and growth. The kick-off was presented by Thijs Remijn, our Project Leader Human Capital agenda, for the Leiden Bio Science Park, Ron Brans from the Economic Board Zuid-Holland extended his best wishes for the program’s success. Through this agreement, key stakeholders—including LEconomic Board Zuid-Holland, OVBSP, Leiden Municipality, UWV, Hogeschool Leiden, and C3 will work together on six key action areas supporting the progress of the Human Capital Agenda of the Leiden Bio Bio Science PArk:

  • Strengthening HR strategies to help companies attract and retain talent
  • Support and facilitate access to specialized training programs to upskill employees
  • Boosting talent mobility by facilitating career transitions within the sector
  • Building strong education partnerships with MBO, HBO, and universities
  • Positioning LBSP as an international talent hub to attract global professionals
  • Promoting STEM and life sciences careers to young students and job seekers
  • Using data-driven insights to shape policies and workforce strategies

One of the first projects to spring from this initiative is the new Leiden Bio Science park job portal, set to launch in April/May. This platform will feature job alerts, story boards, improved search functions, and an integrated applicant tracking system (ATS) to better connect talent with employers. Upcoming events, such as the Meet & Greet HBO+ on April 15th and the BCF Career event Jaarbeurs Utrecht on May 28th, will further strengthen connections between employers and job seekers.
