The International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA) began with its first International Congress in 1982. The meeting in Cairo established IPA’s fundamental role of connecting geriatric mental health care professionals with one another so they can share information, exchange ideas, and collaborate to provide better mental health for older people.
The IPA International Congress features plenary lectures, symposia, free/oral communication sessions, and posters presented by leaders in the field from all around the world. The IPA International Congress also features pre-conference programs, site visits, and special events for IPA members. Due to the diverse backgrounds, research interests, and disciplines of its participants, an IPA International Congress is like no other meeting.
