Bionomic Wins GreenTech Americas Innovation Award 2026

Querétaro, Mexico — March 24, 2026

Bionomic, a Dutch agritech startup developing biological crop protection solutions, has been awarded the GreenTech Americas Innovation Award 2026. The award was presented during the opening ceremony of GreenTech Americas at the Querétaro Congress Center, recognizing pioneering technologies that advance productivity, sustainability, and crop resilience in protected horticulture.

Earlier that day, Bionomic presented its technology to an international jury, where it was selected as the first-ever winner of this award. The recognition highlights both the innovative nature of Bionomic’s approach and the growing relevance of biological solutions in modern agriculture: particularly in Latin America, where a significant share of agricultural production is export-oriented and must meet increasingly strict (organic) consumer demands.

Bionomic develops biological crop protection based on fermentation-derived bioactive molecules, offering an alternative to chemical fungicides. Its technology provides effective control of soil-borne pathogens while maintaining the safety and environmental profile expected from biological solutions.

The jury acknowledged the practical applicability and scalability of Bionomic’s technology, particularly within the Americas, where the demand for sustainable and high-performance crop protection solutions continues to grow.

“We are extremely proud to receive this award,” said Diederik Mud, co-founder of Bionomic. “It validates the work of our team and confirms that biological solutions can play a key role in supporting resilient and productive agricultural systems worldwide.”

Bionomic extends its gratitude to the jury panel:
Felix Tarrats (CEICKOR), Jorge Del Toro (Finka), Oscar Woltman (Phoenix Consulting), and Frank Hoogendoorn (Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mexico).
