The Bètabanenmarkt (Dutch for Science Career Event) helps you start your career. You can meet employers during the company fair and network drinks. You can improve your CV by getting it checked and a professional profile picture taken. You can learn about entrepreneurship or about pursuing a PhD. Ultimately, our goal is to improve your orientation of the job market.

Company fair

One might say a science student will always find a job, but we believe it is crucial to find a job you love! We provide you with a selection of different types of companies in various industries. So also consider careers outside the industry your study focuses on, for example, IT or consulting. And get a taste of the difference between a start-up and a multinational. Meeting all these companies can help you get a feeling of which companies suit you the best. You may even find a job!

Workshop

Curious to acquire new skills that even might help you with your job search? Join one of the workshops for a deep-dive into their expertise during an interactive workshop.

Presentation

Would you like to learn more about possible career paths? Or, do you ask yourself what is actually being done in a company and what their specific topics are? Then join one of the presentations and learn about companies.

Speed dates

Speed dates are one-on-one sessions between you and a company. The sessions are a great way to show who you are and introduce yourself to future employers.

Before the event, you can provide your CV to companies you want to join in a speed date session via our registration form. The companies will review all the CVs and make a selection of the students they would like to get to know. You will receive more information about the speed date sessions a few days before the event.
