What to Expect
During this workshop, you will experiment with natural pigments and discover how colors have traditionally been extracted from materials found in nature. You will explore a variety of painting techniques, work with handmade paints, and learn how living organisms produce color through biological and biochemical processes.
Guided step by step by Tetiana Hakh and Farah Nikijuluw, you will create your own artwork while gaining insight into the fascinating science behind natural color. You will also receive a handmade watercolour set and a practical guide to continue experimenting at home.
As part of the Dutch Bio Science Week, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of science, sustainability, and creativity.
The workshop takes place in the historic building of Ars Aemula Naturae, one of the oldest and most inspiring cultural venues in Leiden.
