Bridging Biomedical Frontiers – LUMC International Lecture Series

On 7 September, the new Bridging Biomedical Frontiers – LUMC International Lecture Series kicks off with two lectures by leading researchers from China. Prof. Shaoping Deng (Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital / ClonOrgan) and Prof. Hai Qi (Tsinghua University) will share insights from their research on xenotransplantation and immunology.

The lectures will take place back-to-back at LUMC and are open to staff and researchers from LUMC, Leiden University and the Leiden Bio Science Park. You are welcome to attend either lecture or both.

The lecture series will bring international researchers to Leiden from Autumn 2026 through Spring 2027, fostering scientific exchange and creating opportunities for new collaborations.

Prior to the lectures, a Meet & Greet with lunch with the visiting Chinese delegation will take place from 13:30–15:00, primarily for members of the Chinese community at LUMC, Leiden University and the Leiden Bio Science Park. The gathering offers an informal opportunity to meet the delegation, learn more about their institutions and connect with other members of the community.

Registration is required for the Meet & Greet only. If interested, visit the website!

Attendance at the lectures is open to all and does not require registration. However, advance registration is required for the meet and greet, and is open until 3 September.
