We are thrilled to welcome Prof. Madelon Maurice as our next LED3 Lecture speaker.
Madelon studied Medical Biology at the Free University, Amsterdam, and earned her PhD from Leiden University Medical Center, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and the Hubrecht Institute. Currently a Full Professor of Molecular Cell Biology at the University Medical Center (UMC) Utrecht and an investigator at the Oncode Institute, her groundbreaking research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of cell-cell communication.
Specifically, her lab investigates how dysregulated signaling pathways (such as the Wnt pathway) and patient-derived mutations drive stem cell miscommunication and tumor growth, with the ultimate goal of developing innovative, targeted anti-cancer therapies.
