What does CHDR actually do?
The Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) in Leiden is an independent foundation that tests new medicines at an early stage. This is done with the help of healthy volunteers and patients, in a safe and controlled environment.
During the Open Day on Saturday, July 5, everyone is welcome to take a look inside CHDR, in the department where these studies take place. You’ll discover how researchers use innovative techniques to measure the effects and safety of medicines – and how this contributes to better treatments for the future.
Especially for the Open Day, there will be an interactive theater performance in our auditorium. In “In the Time Machine at CHDR”, you’ll travel 4,000 years through the history of medicine and self-care – from ancient herbal remedies to modern vaccines. An exciting and educational experience for all ages!
🕒 Performances take place at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:00 PM.
🎟️ Participation is free, but registration is required due to limited seating. You can register via this link.
Please note that the theater performance is in Dutch only.
