Open Day LUMC

Short introduction

Discover the future of healthcare during the Open Day at the LUMC: from stem cells to AI, from hearing to childcare. Experience AI first hand, meet KiK, our WAKZ mascot, and talk to researchers and students. Innovation has never been this fun, educational and close.

General programming – ongoing

During the Open Day, the LUMC opens its doors to anyone who is curious about the healthcare of tomorrow. Discover the story behind stem cell research via an interactive display, talk to PhD candidates and build something yourself with AI in our CaireLab. Find out everything about working at the LUMC and meet KiK, the mascot of the Willem-Alexander Children’s Hospital. There are also presentations by researchers. In short, an inspiring day full of science, technology and encounters for young and old!

Unique opportunity to visit the anatomical museum – ongoing, but registration required

You are most welcome to view the special collection of the anatomical museum. For each phase of life, a display case has been set up around the theme ‘Healthy and sick’, containing both healthy preparations and preparations with various symptoms or physical abnormalities. On the touchscreens at the display cases, you will find more information about the preparations and detailed photos of the abnormalities.

Please note: the nature of the collection makes the museum less suitable for small children. We recommend the ages 12 and up.
