INFECTA is a clinical research organization based at the Leiden Bio Science Park, accelerating infectious disease product development through Controlled Human Infection Models and first-in-human studies. 

Dr. Koen van der Maaden from Leiden University Medical Center

Focuses on the development of therapeutic cancer vaccines that aim to induce new cancer-specific T-cell responses, with dendritic cells playing a central role in initiating effective immunity.

Matthias Barz from Leiden University

Leads efforts in advancing biotherapeutic delivery solutions and focuses on creating innovative therapeutic materials using polypept(o)ides to address complex medical challenges.

Simone Joosten from Leiden University Medical Center

The Leiden Vaccine Group unites partners in the field of vaccine development in the Leiden area to accelerate vaccine development. Recognizing the importance of integrating and aligning knowledge and goals to create highly effective vaccines for future generations is central to the Leiden Vaccine Group’s mission. 

Anna Beukenhorst from Leyden Labs

Leyden Labs develops intranasal antibody technology targeting viruses like influenza and coronaviruses at the point of entry, offering a practical, non-vaccine approach to stopping infections early.
