The Leiden Bio Science Park warmly invites primary schools to take part in Vuurvliegen, a free and spectacular science event for students in grades 6, 7 and 8 (ages 9–12). In collaboration with C3, this exciting event will take place at CORPUS in Oegstgeest.
During this dynamic science battle, four to five young researchers will present their research to an audience of 150–300 primary school students where the children will not only discover the world of science, they will truly be immersed in it.
Why Vuurvliegen?
At C3, we believe and are committed to high-quality study and career orientation. Discovering interstes and talents is very imporant. With vuurliegen, playful and interactive introductions are made to children learning about science.
What are the expectations?
- An afternoon with fulfilling spectacles of researchers presenting their works
- Interactive discussions, for plenty of questions
- Students as jury’s that encourage children to vote for their favorite presenter
- A festive finale with the winning researcher being announced during the ceremony.
