Rapidemic B.V. is a young and dynamic medtech start-up company, dedicated to making molecular diagnostics easy and accessible to all. We are located in the heart of the Leiden Bioscience park, in BioPartner 3.

Location: Leiden Bioscience Park, Leiden. 

Type: Full-time research position

Contract: 1 year contract with possible extension

Time: 40 hours/week

    Responsibilities

    • Perform wetlab work on DNA extraction, amplification, quantification using Rapidemic's proprietary assay and other molecular biological assays. 
    • Work within the team's quality procedures in compliance with ISO13485
    • Proficiently carry out assignments with guidance in planning, organizing, and meeting key deadlines.
    • Design protocols. Analyze and interpret experimental data. Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving to improve methods or procedures.
    • Communicate regularly with the team to relay project progress, experiment results, and data analysis; openly and thoughtfully discuss challenges.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of completed experiments
    • Track the project progress meticulously and in a structured way.
    • Support an atmosphere of inclusion and collective contribution to projects and procedures with the team.
    • Capable of adjusting to dynamic working environment and changing priorities, while ensuring timely completion of assigned task. 

    Profile

    You have: 

    • A relevant degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related discipline in the life sciences.
    • At least 2 years work experience in a similar position. 
    • Experience and good working knowledge of microbiology and molecular biology techniques. 
    • Experience in working in a BSL-2 environment. 
    • Structured, meticulous, organized.
